The Austrian born drummer received his musical education at the Conservatory of Vienna and played with well known austrian musicians like Charly Ratzer, Harry Stoijka, Leo Wright, Wolfgang Puschnig, Linda Sharrock, Jimmy Woody, Lee Harper, and Richard Oesterreicher, among many others.

1988 he received a scholarship from the world renowned university New School of Music" in New York and left Austria for his further studies. During his stay in New York he started to work with musicians like Larry Goldings, Brad Mehldau, Ron Carter, Mark Whitfield, Peter Bernstein, Scott Colley, Chris Potter, Slide Hampton, Frank Wess, Shabhib Shihab, Rick Margitza, Ben Monder, Donny McCaslin, a.m.o.

Beside his activities in the Jazz/R&B scene in NYC, he started to participate in the 80's as a sideman in the   "Institutional Church of God in Christ" which is well known throughout the US and has played with artists from the Contemporary Gospel scene like James Hall, Melvin Crispell, Butch Heyward and others.

1998 he was invited to play with Cirque du Soleil a Europe tour which brought him also to Germany. During his stay with the show in Berlin he started recording the first tracks for his debut album "Delicate Move" and finished it up in New York with a few cuts featuring Hiram Bullock on guitar.

He is currently living as a freelance musician in New York and Berlin from where he is continually working with musicians like, Spirit of Life Ensemble, Twana Rhodes, Nina Hill, Spike (Pam Knight), Della Miles, Sigi Davis, Keith Tynes, TV-shows for Peter Alexander, Otto, Karel Gott, as well as Paul Kuhn and the unique dinner show "Pomp, Duck & Circumstances"as well as other shows like "Mamma Mia" and "Dirty Dancing".

Der österreichische Schlagzeuger Andy Winter erhielt seine musikalische Ausbildung am Wiener Konservatorium und konzertierte schon früh mit Größen der heimischen Szene wie Karl Ratzer, Harry Stoijka, Leo Wright, Wolfgang Puschnig, Linda Sharrock, Jimmy Woody, Lee Harper, Richard Österreicher u.v.a.

1988 ging er für Studium und Szenekontakte 10 Jahre nach New York (Abschluss bei Lenny White an der New School of Music, NY) und arbeitete dort mit Jazzmusikern wie, Larry Goldings, Brad Mehldau, Ron Carter, Mark Whitfield, Peter Bernstein, Scott Colley, Chris Potter, Slide Hampton, Frank Wess, Shabhib Shihab, Rick Margitza, Ben Monder, Donny McCaslin, u.v.a.
Neben seiner Tätigkeit in der Jazz / R&B Szene in NYC, begann er Ende der 80er als Mitmusiker in der in den US bekannten “Institutional Church of God in Christ” Kirche mitzuwirken, aus der in der Gospelszene bekannte Musiker wie James Hall, Melvin Crispell und der Schlagzeuger Gerald Heyward (J.M.Blige) hevorkamen.

1998 kam er auf Einladung der kanadischen Show "Cirque du Soleil" wieder nach Europa mit welcher er einige Jahre tourte, bevor er sich in Deutschland vorübergehend niederließ.

Andy Winter lebt jetzt als freischaffender Musiker in New York und Berlin, von wo aus er seine zahlreichen verschiedenartigen Projekte verfolgt wie z.B Tourneen und Konzerte mit den Bands von Twana Rhodes, Spirit of Life Ensemble, Nina Hill, Spike (Pam Knight), Della Miles, Sigi Davis, Keith Tynes, TV-Shows für Peter Alexander, Otto, Karel Gott sowie Paul Kuhn, und die einzigartige Dinnershow “Pomp, Duck & Circumstances” und andere Shows wie "Mamma Mia" and "Dirty Dancing".
